Getting back to normal

Getting back to normal

The “Great” recession devastated real estate values and local municipalities across the country.  During this time period Dover enacted several safe guards to ease the budget constraints.  One of those initiatives was closing town offices on Friday’s to save money.  Today, we are on the other side of those years and property values are returning to pre recession levels. With construction starts up, new development taking place, the Dover economy is positioned well moving forward.  As for the town, they revealed a new schedule for town office hours moving forward:

“City Hall offices will be open Monday through Friday beginning Monday, Aug. 3, 2015.

City Hall is currently open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The current hours will remain the same. In addition, City Hall offices, including the City Clerk and Tax Collector offices, will be open on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In May, the City Council adopted a fiscal year 2016 budget that included funding for the additional hours at City Hall.”
