Driving toward city center on Locust St. you can’t help but notice the large parking structure located on the hill in the heart of downtown Dover. Yes, Dover’s sky line is changing! The large river front development on first St. and other plans are changing the look of Dover. This is an exciting time to be a Dover resident and more importantly having an input on our future.

Dover Police Chief Anthony Colarusso, Jr. announces the the new 321-space public parking garage will open today, Nov. 25, at 5 p.m. Colarusso noted the Police and Parking Facility Building Committee pledged two years ago to open the parking garage prior to this year’s holiday season.
A formal grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 3 p.m., at the entrance to the garage on Orchard Street.
The new parking garage on Orchard Street uses “Pay by Space” metering technology. This technology offers additional, convenient options for motorists accustomed to the existing downtown EasyPark personal metering system. More information on the new parking garage and Pay by Space system can be found at drivingdover.com.
